Nation’s largest privately owned bank expands headquarters campus
MidFirst Bank purchased a six-story, 244,283-square-foot Class A office building in Oklahoma City from Southwestern Energy Co. and Chesapeake Energy for $30 million, or about $123 per square foot.
Located at 6200 NW Classen, the property was formerly known as Building 14 on the Chesapeake Energy, now Expand Energy, campus and sits adjacent to MidFirst’s existing headquarters facilities.
The acquisition supports MidFirst’s long-term growth strategy and keeps it in Oklahoma City, where it operates as one of the nation’s largest privately owned banks with assets totaling $39 billion.
“MidFirst has experienced tremendous expansion in recent years and now operates banking locations in Oklahoma, Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Texas and Utah, as well as mortgage servicing, private banking and commercial real estate lending nationwide,” said Todd Dobson, CEO of MidFirst Bank.
For the seller, the disposition aligns with Expand Energy’s broader transition plans, including relocating its headquarters to Houston by mid-2026 while maintaining an Oklahoma City presence, according to marketing materials.
